Socialist Voice Review:
June – 2023
Brace yourself! There will not be a single word of criticism of the June issue of Socialist Voice in this review.
In a surprising though nevertheless very welcome departure from the constant and pointless ‘we must do this’, ‘they must do that’, it is refreshing to see article after article stick to commentary and analysis and leaving it at that.
In previous reviews we have drawn attention to the constant issuing of demands with no indication or plan as to how such demands would be met or achieved. In our review of the May issue of Socialist Voice we commented that “Sometimes commentary is enough.” While we might question or disagree with some of the content that does not constitute a criticism and this is as it should be.
Of course, political development and progress cannot rely on commentary and analysis alone. It is still the responsibility of the CPI to provide pathways to developing socialism now and in the future.

Considering its recent indifference, then its resistance and, laterly, its outright hostility to developing any means within the Party to provide dedicated resources to develop ways forward for both the Party and for workers, it is difficult to see where the leadership can come from.
Even if such pathways manage to see the light of day, how the information will be articulated to the rest of us ordinary mortals – inside or outside the Party – is another matter but for now, read this month’s Socialist Voice and maybe you will have a better understanding of a number of important issues at home and abroad.
